Sherriff Mulbah, a quiet, devoted husband, Father of a little girl, and a modest person may not be widely known outside Liberia, but his impact on our world's neediest children and prevention of child trafficking world-wide is unmatched. Now, Sheriff is battling advanced kidney failure and is in the fight of his life.
Humble in funds and in every facet of his life, Sheriff has stepped up to shoulder the burden of thousands of forgotten children! Now Sheriff needs a shoulder to rely on financially and has nowhere to turn. Today, the man who fights for our world's voiceless and most vulnerable children, now has no voice and is most vulnerable himself! When corruption and instability drove nearly every major NGO out of West Africa,—including World Vision, Compassion International, and Mercy Ship—Sheriff pleaded with Matsiko Children International to stay. He promised to safeguard every dollar for children’s education, and because of his integrity and persistence, Matsiko remained.
The result has been life changing. Today, more than 3,000 of Liberia's neediest children are in school for the first time—from preschool to medical school. Many are studying medicine, law, engineering, carpentry, and education. Some are preparing to open a free clinic for families who cannot otherwise access medical care—all because of Sheriff’s vision and leadership. Sheriff also helped establish the Matsiko National Liberia children’s Choir and the Matsiko World Orphan Choir, giving a global voice of hope to our world's 600 million orphaned and at-risk children.
Throughout the past eight years, Sheriff has been a trusted leader with Matsiko, tirelessly working to protect children and fight against trafficking. Few people worldwide have done more to defend and uplift the world’s most vulnerable children. Sheriff’s kidneys have failed, and without ongoing treatment, he cannot survive. His care requires $65,000 per year until he regains his health.
